Why did I create This Site?

In creating this website, I am touching on a topic close to me and many other Syrian expatriates I know.

Click below to listen to what my intentions are and what I hope to achieve with this project.

From the beginnings of the Arab Spring Syria had stayed quiet.

Tunisians, Yemenis, Egyptians and Libyans took to the streets but Syria saw no major protests or civil strife.

The Syrian regime faced no popular opposition. But that all changed on March 15, 2011 when Syrians went out in mass to protest against the government.

Syrians across the world began to take action and speak out in support of their brothers and sisters back home.

Syria Then and Now

Having lived and experienced in the 70s and 80s as young man, my father recounts his childhood in Syria.

He describes his school, life and shares with us why decided to leave Syria to get an education in Texas.

Iyad Nahas also talks about what he thinks about the future of Syria beyond the Assad regime.
